Harboring a little peace

There's always a lot of work to be done in spring to get ready for the season, but there was no sense of hurry on a perfect morning. Just people tending to things they know how to do well. Easing the boats in. Making this little repair and that on the docks. Fishing. And off beyond the fishing platforms, the Dam Beach waited for summer.

Babs Young writes: The cherry blossoms are beginning to pop. Not all are out yet, but they are coming on, maybe a bit late. They seem to be in abundance none the less. I’m sure these will be great cherries sometime after the 4th of July.

News from the Beach

The main thing you probably want to know, given how Mama Nature has been behaving lately, is that yes, the beach is still there, all along the shore of Grand Traverse Bay. There are a lot of stones here and there, but we've all decided those add artistic interest, right? And the water is warming up a bit. I had to wade in to rinse the Cowboy off after he got into something and my feet didn't even go numb.
