During the last couple weeks of October the DNR Construction Crew was busy at the Eastport Landing boat launch. This was just a tiny part of the work the crew did on October 27, but it’s the part I happened to be there to watch. At this point they were ready to put the dock back in place on top of the newly-laid ramp. In this sequence, they hooked up the dock, dragged it around the circle drive, pushed it out into the water, and got it settled. Then they scooped up water from the lake and poured it over the ramp to wash off the leaves and sand. The dock is ready to use, although the approach is fairly soft. There’s more work to be done there and on the parking lot.
As always, click on a photo to see a larger version. WordPress has designed a new gizmo, and if it’s working right, once you click on one photo you’ll be able to continue to click through the sequence to your heart’s content.
