I believe I may have mentioned that it snowed, and that it was cold. I suppose it’s only fair to mention that it has been a very nice weekend, and the snow is all melted. We had a fine walk in the woods, where there is warm sun to be had now that all the leaves are down. We examined the shelf fungus on the birches, and tried to capture a face in a tree.
We sat in the sun in a fine high place and surveyed our domain. The silvery money plant pods are empty of their seeds and ready to be gathered. Satisfactory. We did no chores, and have no guilt. Some days are meant for simple gratitude.

It was gorgeous, wasn’t it, Gerry? Sarah loved her outings today, as did we. Your dogs look VERY happy. Doesn’t it make your heart sing?

That picture at the bottom – my mum had one of those plants beside our front door when I was a tiny person – those papery pods always intrigued me. I never knew what the plant was called, of course, and I have to admit, I’d forgotten all about it until I saw your picture. Thanks, Gerry!

Those silvery money plant pods are neat! Love the photo of your dogs! I haven’t yet looked for faces in trees… hmm…

Thank you, Anna. I have a fanciful turn of mind, and regularly spot faces in trees. Probably a character flaw, but I enjoy it.

In this month of changeable weather when Nature can not decide to be warm or cold. Those warm days after a cold snap feel so good.
Haven’t gotten your warm weather here yet. Hopefully by midweek so I can go out and enjoy a walk of gratitude, too.

It might be coming sooner than you think–I believe our nice warm Monday came and went yesterday! But it’s still sunny. Sun is good.

They are lulling you into complacency, biding their time.

I love your walk of gratitude. I had the same thought as you yesterday, walking into a brilliant forest with a happy Beagle digging under a carpet of fallen leaves as I sat on a log and enjoyed the view, the sounds, the scent. No other word can describe this but gratitude. And thank you for those lovely pictures. Love your dogs !
