Late on Thursday evening Miss Sadie, the Cowboy and I were having a last walk before bedtime. It was dark, but I had a flashlight and they always carry their noses with them, so that was all right. We were getting to the part of the road that goes past the swamp.
I had to read Daily Shot (the Garden&Gun blog - I read the post about the pimento cheese sandwich controversy at the Augusta National). Then I had to lie down for a little bit with some nice Michigan snow pressed to my brow.

This morning sleep went missing. When that happens a person can lie there and think too many thoughts. A person can turn on the lamp and read in bed. Or a person can just say oh the heck with it and get up.
