On Sunday afternoon I looked out my front door, cussed, and called Louan to tell her I was not driving down to Traverse City even to hear really good music at Sleder’s.

I have been consulting the weather reports. I gather the fun will go on all week in one way and another. Fortunately we have laid in an extra supply of excellent treats.
At least it is nice fluffy snow. We are going to go for a walk while the sun lasts, kicking up sparkly clouds all the way.

What a delight, to see that we’re sharing birds. There was a pair of mergansers swimming around a marina where I was working a couple of weeks ago. I took my camera down on the off chance they’d come back, and they did. This is the first pair I’ve seen in a couple of years, and I have no idea whether ours were coming or going. Maybe they’re part of the contingent from Up There who decided to go south for a bit during the winter.

I’ve completely lost track of when particular birds are supposed to be here. Of course, with the unseasonable seasons we’ve been having these last few years, the birds themselves are probably fairly confused.
