I was pondering a post that I very much feared would bore you to death when Bing! my Outlook announced the arrival of a new batch of mail. Right there on top was a present from Andi Laidlaw. You are rescued.
Andi is a minimalist. Her title is Coneflower and Bee. I am a maximalist, and I am struck by the sight of a bee wearing a tiny little leopardskin coat. I certainly hope it is roadkill leopard, as it is unbearable to think about the alternative.

Beautiful bumble bee and coneflower…. always a lovely subject for a photo when one is lucky to capture it!

It must have a matching bag, I feel sure; and probably some glossy black boots, high heeled. Such a snappily dressed little bee.

Bees look so … fluffy … but I’ve never attempted to touch a live one. I usually go for the “glass and paper” combo to trap them, then release them back into the wild blue yonder.
My marigolds are attracting lots and lots of bees this summer, industrious little things that they are.

You are going to need quantities of glass and paper when the weather turns cold.

Gerry, If you want to see the Bumble Bee Dawson Fast Step come over and pick some raspberries with me. I’am grateful fot the pollination job they’re doing, but I have to tread lightly in my berry patch. The Grandchildren love raspberries, but I can’t let them get overexcited while in my berry patch. I will be picking around 6, I have to finish my painting first.

I would be tickled to pick raspberries but I am on my way out to dinner. Pretty evening, isn’t it?

How nice to see an “individualist” bee with a polka-dot coat rather than traditional stripes!

It will probably turn out to be an invasive species, with a particularly devastating sting. Or not.

Roadkill leopard on a bee. I don’t know what’s more excellent Gerry: that photo or your sense of humour 🙂

Oh, the photo is definitely more excellent. The sense of humor is really more a sense of the possibilities, looked at in a certain light.
