Is there anything more beautiful than fat bales of hay waiting out in the field on a late afternoon? I can’t drive past without stopping. As I am having a terrible time constructing the post about Snowflake, I thought I would cobble this together to hold you until I can recover my focus.

Oh, no – who is Snowflake? Is this going to be a sad story? Sounds like it is going to be a sad story. I hope its not!

Oh, sorry – not a sad story at all, just an enormously complicated one, and I think I am making it too hard.

Those big hay bales brought back some memories.
i was thinking of you earlier, Gerry, while reading our local newspaper. To be precise, an article about the upcoming airshow at East Fortune, not too far from here.
One of their attractions looks worthy of the day out all by itself: The Quack Commandos – watch sheepdogs guide ducks around an obstacle course, with the added draw of maybe getting a wee turn yourself. That sounds like so much fun, and just this side of bonkers!

Quack Commandos! I wonder if it would inspire the Cowboy. Must go check out the site.
Back again. I checked it out. Everybody? Go watch the sheepdogs herd ducks. Trust me. Now I am wondering if the Antrim County Democratic Party should look into retaining sheepdogs. If they can herd Indian Runner Ducks they ought to be able to herd cats.

Lovely hay bale and hay field scenes in the height of summer. I always enjoy them and shot a few of these type of scenes the other day in the rain. Waiting to read about Snowflake.

Due to my grandson’s interest in contruction/farming equipment, I’ve seen more than my share of videos about how the grass in the fields is transformed into bales of hay. It is amazing how it’s done. At the end of the day, the haybales are a beautiful sight on the landscape. They look so neat and tidy.

Of all the signs of harvest, the haybales are my favorite. I have no idea why this should be.
