Oh, the little moth held still for you! I’m jealous. Chicory and mullein already–too fast, too fast the summer! I did enjoy the pictures. Thank you, Gerry, Sadie and Cowboy for sharing your walk.

In the interest of full disclosure I suppose I should tell you that the little moth is one of dozens that were plastered to my front door this morning. I have no idea where they came from or what kind they are. Sometimes Mama Nature is so generous with her gifts that I have a hard time keeping up with the thank-you notes.

They look refreshing as I sit here sweating in my un-air conditioned office. They say it will be fixed “real soon now”. Which is what they said last week.

I cannot do heat. I don’t have AC–my house is shaded in summer–but I do have a big blue lake a couple hundred feet from the front door. Just thinking about you in the hotbox makes me want to go sit in the lake. If it gets as hot here as it is there, I am going to go to Batchawana Bay on Lake Superior. It has never failed me yet.

It looks like you had a lovely walk in a nice shaded area. Very kind of Miss Sadie and the Cowboy to pause long enough to allow you to take the shots during the walk! I’m afraid Daphne and Teddy are usually very excited on our walks and are not terribly patient while I try to aim the mysterious face device! I’ve learned to be quite quick about it if I insist on using dog-walk time for picture taking!

I like “mysterious face device.”
I’m so used to being in the woods that it doesn’t occur to me how shady it is during the summer! No wonder I have a hard time with exposure! 🙂

I agree with Pamela that this summer is going much too fast. Why is it in such a rush?

My theory is that Summer is a teenager, longing to be a Grownup, though unclear on the concept.
