We’ve had a string of fine sunny days, and I feel compelled to commit doggerel.
The dogs have roused me from my dreams
Of deep blue Bay and frozen streams
Of giant muskies in Torch Lake
Beneath the ice that groans and gleams
Miss Sadie gives the leash a shake
“We need to go! Make no mistake!”
I trudge behind them, half asleep
For we have got a walk to take
The snow is lovely, bright and deep
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I wake
And miles to go before I wake

Aw, shucks–you’re used to people taking liberties with Frost!

Are you awake yet, Gerry? LOL! This is really funny. Commiting doggerel. Ha ha. I think you and Robert Frost would enjoy a good walk together. But I suppose that is a road that cannot be taken…

I am awake now. No promises about later. Dunno about taking a walk with Frost. I grew up loving his poetry–my copy of the Complete Poems is inscribed from my mother to my father on the occasion of their 21st anniversary–but I’ve always thought of him as a prickly sort.

I was just quoting that to myself recently – one of my favorite poems. 🙂

Um, believe it or not, it’s one of my favorites, too.

I think Mr. Frost would have enjoyed this very much as I did.

This is beautiful! Nothing like the sun on snow. Nothing like the sun rays reaching out across sparkling snow.
Sorry I haven’t been around lately as I’ve been beyond busy. We’ve moved to our own website and have a new photoblog. http://www.surfaceandsurfacephotography.com/photoblog/
Thought to let you know. 🙂

Hi Anna! For awhile all the links to all your sites were broken over here. Now they’re working again, and what a good thing that is. I like the new site.
