Babs Young writes: One of these days spring is actually going to come to Northern Michigan. It got up to almost 65º today, wow. Maybe our warmest day yet this year. This was Torch Lake early Saturday morning looking south from my house.
You really owe it to yourself to click this one to see the bigger version. Don’t you just expect to see Excalibur emerging from the lake?

That is really, really lovely, Gerry. That far shore shrouded in mist and the bright spring color of the clear area on the right make a wonderful contrast. Then there is the echo of the sky on the water. Altogether lovely!
Now, not to change the subject, but (assuming that it has bloomed) what day did forsythia bloom in your part of the world? I ask because mine at home was almost a full week behind Traverse City, Microclimate again!

That Babs is a good ‘un isn’t she!
I did not keep track of the blooming day for forsythia, but it’s been awhile.

Oh, wow. See, if I could paint, I’d love to make a painting of that.

I’ll bet you could learn to paint. You are a capable person with vision. And now you have a real incentive.

You think? Not many 12 year olds can reduce an Art teacher to near tears with their complete and absolute lack of any ability to render (accurately) on paper what they see in front of them. I found that task particularly easy, before the Art department and I parted company early in my school career, to sighs of relief on both parts!
I have other talents .. I can sew, I can bake, and I can solve Sudoku puzzles swiftly, but paint? Only walls and fences.

I was thinking that too…that it would be a lovely painting…

Hey. We should ALL do our own interpretation of that photo as a painting…wouldn’t that be interesting?

Yes.

I think there needs to be a Babs Young Views of Torch Lake calendar. I’d buy more than one.

Thanks Sally Ann, I’d consider it if Gerry would market it. That’s not my forte.
