Yesterday was just beautiful. Today . . . not so much. I’ll show you photos from yesterday then, shall I? Like a nice blue sky with filmy clouds high above the birches.
And the cupola on the barn at Bay View Centennial Farm gleaming in the afternoon sunshine.
And the Duo, guarding what’s left of the snowpile at Bay View. They are fond of snowpiles, especially the ones thrown up by snowplowing and full of lovely mud.
Today . . . it’s raining here and there. My pretty icicle has melted. The driveway is barely navigable. On the other hand, it’s 46 degrees out there, so we have that going for us. Can mud season be far behind?

The Bogs are earning their keep for sure. But hang onto your mittens.

I prefer snow. Clean white snow! And high temperatures, of course.

This is the time of year when we get thawing snowpiles followed by frozen mud. Then when my driveway is an ice rink, we get some nice fluffy snow to lull us into complacency. Next thing you know I’m staring up at the sky and everything hurts. I hate mud season.

Uh, I saw a prediction for 11-degree lows on Sunday evening over on our side of the Bay. Do not put winter coats away!

It figures, doesn’t it! Do not put YakTrax away either. On the other hand, isn’t it nice to have just a little break? It is. It’s nice.

Is it suppose to get cold down there tomorrow? They are warning of very “owly” weather in our neck of the woods.

To tell you the truth, I spent all evening reading an Elmore Leonard novel. I have no idea what it’s supposed to do tomorrow, but if PJ says it’s supposed to be cold on Sunday, that’s what it’s supposed to do. Any bets on what it will do? I swear the weather behaves like a certain spaniel of my acquaintance.

Mud season is about right when you have dogs and kids. Your blue sky does look cold, it’s a lot warmer in our area now. It looks like spring will start early for us.

I wish you balmy breezes! We don’t really welcome too much spring too early around here, as it makes the orchards bloom too soon. Then Mama Nature comes along with one more hard freeze . . . and the next thing you know we’re all standing around wondering what to do with our summer now that there’s no fruit to harvest. Stay cold, little orchard, stay cold . . . April. April’s a good time for spring in the north country.

Mornin’, Gerry. Our wind is screeching outside! Really strong gusts. Isn’t snowing, though. I think sometimes it’s better not to listen to the weather forecasters about what is suppose to happen. Half the time it doesn’t.

Roaring across the Bay here, too, although it’s turned into a bright and sunny day. Must be what it’s s’posed to do, or at least what it wants to do. Wait ten minutes and we’ll check it out again . . .
