OK, we’ve been a little quiet over here. We’ve been thinking. We’re still thinking, but yesterday we walked and thought at the same time, which is progress. While we were walking we noticed a windsurfer way out on the Bay, skimming along, having a wonderful . . . oops! We were worried for a little minute, but it was soon apparent that the windsurfer was able to rise to the occasion.
Once it was clear there was no emergency, it made for a pleasant interlude. We thought you might enjoy it, too, even though the horizons are lamentably askew and the little camera and I had a dispute about what was important. Life is full of these challenges, but we, too, are able to rise to the occasion. Back soon.

Askew or not, you keep the horizon either high or low in the frame. Very well done. Many people would have put it smack in the middle. Oh, and you used (or cropped) in a portrait orientation. Again, well done.
Just keep working on those camera communication skills. I am having the same spirited debates with my new camera these days. The manual is a good mediator.

Thank you Scott. I thought the portrait orientation might add some energy, and give me a chance to include the waves on the beach. I had not thought of hauling out the manual yesterday . . . there it is. See this little camera? Next time you decide to focus on that tree over there instead of the windsurfer, WHAP! Right across the nose! Uh-oh. Miss Sadie is looking at me with narrowed eyes. There is a No Nose-Whapping Policy in effect at the Writing Studio and Bait Shop.

I noticed your absence and was wondering about the reason. I´ve heard that thinking should be good now and then, unless of course it has to do with problems. In your case I hope it has to do with some of your many exciting plans.
I just love these photos. A lovely summerday, I can hear the waves. Thank you for that

Birgitte, my response vanished – it was a beauty, too, but I’ve forgotten how it went, so just Thank You.
Thinking is good exercise. I should do it more often. For one thing, not a single exciting plan will ever be implemented if I do not focus on it and move it forward. I am very good at the beginning part, but digress a good bit in the middle part. As I am fairly certain I do not have 40 years to wander in the desert, I had better tidy up my middle parts. Oh dear, talk about a metaphor that has gotten completely out of hand. More thinking required.

Just to let you know that I’m back too. -You already know!
I like your windsurfer series. Perhaps some day you could tell me how you make the slideshow.
It is a bit worrying when people starts thinking for days. I hope you just got a good idea.

I’m glad you liked the windsurfer. The slideshow is easy. Upload the photos to the post, save them, and press Insert Slideshow. 😉
The hard part is deciding which images to include, and in what order.
You should never worry about me when I’m thinking. It does me no harm–although I haven’t had any really good ideas, either. On the bright side, I’ve discarded some bad ones, so we have that going for us.

We also are glad that you have returned. Thinking is one of your strong points, as I recall.
Who is to say an idea is good or bad? Ask the windsurfer; he will have a different idea about the day than we earthbound creatures.

Thank you. I am working on Converting Thought to Action. That, I’m pretty sure, is a Good Idea.

I thought you’d abandoned us! I was ready to attempt to organise a very long range search party – which would have stretched my organisational skills somewhat!
Thinking is always good.

Fee, if I ever give up blogging entirely it will be in order to retire to Scotland. The climate suits me and I could spend my golden years–OK, my bronze years–learning the language. Then I could stride across the moors declaiming poetry in Gaelic, with a strong midwestern American accent. Maybe striding is putting it too strongly. Hm. You see where thinking gets me?

I wonder if the windsurfer will find these images of his escapades while surfing the web.
I like the photo with the seagull doing a cameo.

The windsurfer is visiting summertime neighbors across the road. I don’t know that they read blogs much–certainly not in the summer, as our internet service is . . . you know.
Thank you–I liked the gull too, even though he was an accident. I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to put gulls in the picture. They wheel about my head, talking to me, and divebomb the dogs, who dance about trying to bat them out of the air, but the moment the camera comes out they swoop away. I tell you, the wonders I capture aren’t a patch on the wonders I see.

Gerry, you alway crack me up! And any smile is a precious gift…..your thinking about thinking sounds hauntingly familiar as I tend to do the same thing. That darn middle part hasn’t gotten any easier with age somehow – or maybe it’s my propensity to procrastinate?!?!? Hmmmm…shall have to ponder that for awhile! 🙂

See how that works? We should have gone into philosophy. Hm. Maybe not.

Really nice series of the windsurfer! And it looks like fun too. Thinking and walking go well together. 🙂

Thank you, Anna. They do indeed. And the Disreputable Duo concurred.

Dear Gerry, read this a while ago and have been thinking a lot about the windsurfer. About the wind. How aligning with the wind seems key. Then it all seems like little work…simply joy in navigating through the waters in our lakes. Thank you!

Hello Gerry ! Looking again and again at the windsurfer was a lovely interlude, like a vacation on your lake, “seeing” you walking on the beach, thinking… I am glad you shared what you saw with us. Thank you. I am glad you are back 🙂
