Rob the Firefighter is coming to visit, and we are all atwitter. Here, pull up a sand chair and a nice cold drink. You can watch the Duo goof around on the beach while I fluff up the Writing Studio and Bait Shop.

When is Rob coming?

He’s on his way, but he’s going home Friday, so he won’t be able to come to Stone Circle this time. He might be up again at the end of the month.

This is adorable! I especially love the one of both dogs splashing in the surf. Are their leashes tethered together?

They are indeed. The joined leashes arrangement works fairly well, as Miss Sadie is much more muscular than I am, and can handle the determined Cowboy. A person who adopts volunteer dogs willy-nilly must do the best she can to meet the little challenges of their management.

Now, those are some happy pooches. Fun to see the Duo frolic and have fun… and lucky them to have a beach to run and romp on!

They are lucky – although I suspect that from their point of view romping on the beach is just an expected part of normal life.

Guess what happened last night… Maya, speaking of adopted dogs, got skunked while on the leash with Steve. We had to give her a peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap bath last night at about 10:30. She must not have been very close because you can barely smell it today (or I am getting used to it). I just love dogs sometimes 🙂

Oh, Katherine . . . Oh dear oh dear. I have had midnight deskunking duty myself, and it is no fun at all. I’ll bet Maya spends a lot of time in the lake this weekend!

That is life, really ! Such happy dogs on the beach ! I know another one who would love to join your duo, nose deep in the sand, digging to China, his ears like paddles. Lovely moment.

Thank you, Isa! It was a lovely little time carved out of a hectic week. I think Nino would fit right in on the beach. You and I could sit in the shade and laugh at the canine carnival.

Just got my two goofballs back from the kennel while we went on a week’s vacation…though they sometimes make me nuts, it’s good to have them home! The Duo do have fun together! So glad you got to see Rob1

Thanks, Cindy Lou. Maybe I should take a “staycation” – put the Duo in the kennel and loll around a peaceful house for a weekend. Maybe not.
