Katherine has been busy with this and that, much of it having to do with pesky computer issues, but she took time out to send us something special. She wrote, This looks like something from an alien movie. You can almost see the little green men climbing up one of those peaks.
Wouldn’t you like to know where she’s been? (Um, that particular volcanic mountain range looks suspiciously like the beach at Barnes Park in winter.) And now I’m off wondering how it is we decided space aliens would be green. And little.

Large lakes do funny things with water, ice and wind. Add some magic hour color and it indeed looks like something Hollywood would dream up for a SF thriller.

I always expect to see polar bears ambling across ice like that…..maybe alien, green polar bears?!? Hmmmm….

If aliens ever turn up, and they aren’t little and green, I for one will feel a bit cheated!

Thanks, I’d forgotten how incredible the Great Lakes can look in the winter.

I am delighted that all of you enjoyed Katherine’s alien landscape on the Bay. When it comes to amusing ourselves during the winter, we do have our little ways. I’m intrigued by the possibility of green polar bears. Wonder if Daugherty’s ever thought of making his snow sculptures in color . . .

Those who have had a chance to see the 3D version of Avatar know that this is a flying monster landing strip.

These are the fine points I miss because I just don’t get out enough.

Oh this is wonderful! I love the other-worldly look and the colors are great. I wouldn’t mind capturing an alien SF looking image like that. 🙂
