I love angel chimes. Always have, always will. I love the little blue box that says “Made in Sweden.” I love taking them out of the blue box and putting them together. I love the candlelight reflected on the brass cherub cutouts, the bladed canopy that makes the cherubs go round and round, faster and faster, until their batons strike the bells. I love the ting-ting-ting that increases in tempo as the cherubs spin faster. I love the extra set of figures (three horses and a clown) that turns the whole arrangement into Swedish circus chimes, perfect for birthdays. It seems so . . . generous. What more could anyone want for Christmas?

Oh what a hoot – I saw that every Christmas for years up at my sister’s house!
It’s gorgeous! 🙂
We are finished with Christmas – it’s just after 12 noon, and I am sipping Dr Pepper and watching Becker on DVD.

Er . . . keep cool! It hurts my brain to sort through what time/day it is there, but have a rollicking good one whichever it is!

I was just reveling in memories of Christmas’ Past (the parakeet instead of the desired puppy, the real identity of St. Nick, the bubble lights, the antique ornaments (especially the soft Santas) when I saw the angel chimes. We had exactly the same cherubs, and I will search through the boxes of Christmas’ Past to find them…they were truly one of the highlights of the season for me.

Katy, imagine my baby sister’s delight. She was a Christmas baby, and as my mother was a very-close-to-Christmas baby, Mom was determined to make a Separate And Equal Birthday Celebration. The cherubs went ting-ting-ting on Christmas Day in the morning, tra-la . . . and in the evening there was a proper cake and SEPARATE presents and the clown and horses going ting-ting-ting.
