Yesterday, Thanksgiving Day, began with the usual rituals.
This has been an excellent day all the way around—a nice change from some of the others we've had lately. I could unreel it in any direction and enjoy it all over again. It seems worth remembering each of its pleasures, because I suspect there is some other day lurking out there in the dim future when I will need help remembering blessings to count.
Those of you from Away will not find this compelling reading. Just wait until tomorrow, OK? There will be spaniels, lakes, excellent treats--all the usual suspects. Those of you from Around Here are likely to learn something useful.
The word is out all over town that on Thursday evening Chris Doyal is going to answer that question. (You remember Chris. He was very helpful when I got into trouble trying to figure out underwater history once before.)
