Babs sent this image and wrote, We’ve had lots of good weather this week. Today it was rain, but earlier we had lovely snow. This is in Blue Heaven.

We have had exactly the same weather. Fluffy snow followed by sleet followed by rain. I slipped on my stairs and damaged my valuable tailbone and my car is stuck in my driveway. Babs captured a scene that makes me want to put Norwegian Wood on the CD player (I am old-fashioned).
It’s all a matter of perspective. I believe that will be the theme of the week ahead. Stay tuned.

Oh, dear. Sympathies to your tailbone. I went down a flight of icy steps on my rear once, and remember it well enough to really, truly sympathize. I hope you didn’t do any lasting damage.
The photo’s beautiful, but it does have a certain aura about it. I think I might go for Lara’s Theme instead of Norwegian Wood. You haven’t seen Omar Sharif out in those woods, have you?

Lara’s Theme could work. I loved that movie. No Omar in the woods, but I did see a magnificent canid that I hope was a coyote that could stand in for a wolf.

Oh this made my day! Isn’t that just so. Life is all a matter of perspective?

Babs has made many days Around Here and thank goodness for that.

Beautiful picture and title. Perspective IS everything – like how thankful I am that I can listen to Norwegian Wood or Lara’s Theme in a warm house, instead of on the streets.

You put it very well. It’s good to be inside the cozy house. The even greater gift is to know just how good that is, and to be thankful.

I hope that your tailbone recovers quickly. It is a bad place to have a sore spot.

It is indeed. I feel bad about moaning–especially as I’m feeling much better today–but I’m glad to have the sympathy!

You can never have too much sympathy.

Very evocative photo. Good weather for a sleigh ride. Too bad nobody nearby has a pair of Clydes to get your car unstuck. Never mind that our tailbones are vestigial, they hurt like the dickens if you smack down on them. Ow!
I remember the scenes of Lara and Yuri in the house at Varykino in the snow when he wrote the poem about her. They were magical. My favorite part of the movie. They did a remake of Zhivago at some point but it just couldn’t hold a candle to the original. You really had to have seen it in a movie theater. Video just doesn’t do it justice.

I am pleased to announce that I managed to dig my car out all by myself this morning. My tailbone is feeling much better, possibly because of an ointment a friend gave me. It’s amazing how many parts of our valuable persons are completely unnecessary, yet capable of causing a good deal of trouble. I wonder if other creatures share this quality?
In my experience, most movies are better in real theaters. The memories keep better, too.

This year photos of snow do seem pretty as we have had very little. They say more is coming but I believe each day that goes by with little or none is one day closer to camping!

I’m headed out into the day. I believe I will take a picture of Barnes Park for you.

Happy to know you feel better and your car is “liberated”. I quite like this picture, it also reminds me of Russia, Finland and…the forest next door. A refreshing view in the Summer that maybe hot this year too.

Good morning, Isa. I agree – this is exactly the sort of picture I go looking for in August when the Cowboy is sitting in the bay with his tongue hanging out and Miss Sadie is hiding in the patch of shade under Mickey’s umbrella table. Hmm. I think I must go look at some August posts. From the northern hemisphere!
