Babs Young has been playing in the big sandpile on the big lake. She writes: This was taken in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore south of Empire. What a treasure we have so close to us.
We are spoiled for treasures. Come see for yourself.

Yes, lovely. Funny thing is, every day in my bookstore I think that I simply MUST get to the beach that evening, but then I get home to my own farmyard and don’t want to go anywhere at all. Treasures are everywhere.

Miss Sadie and the Cowboy cannot believe the number of days that go by at the Writing Studio and Bait Shop without a walk on the beach. Not that they mind a walk in the woods or a ride over the drumlins, but really, they want to know . . . isn’t there a daily beach requirement?!? (Um, no.)

The Great Lakes and it’s surrounding environments are a treasure as is this photo.

You just never can tell what you’ll find around the Freshwater Nation. Clydesdales delivering beer in Baldwinsville! Spaniels melting in Torch Lake Township! What next?!?

One of my best friends has been roaming Minnesota. She called tonight, and had somehow drifted into Wisconsin. Tomorrow, she’s going to have a look at Lake Superior. I told her we need to make another run at the area, but farther east.
I sent her a link to this photo and got an “oooooohhhh” back. Nothing to do now but set the hook. 🙂

It is leventy-nine degrees out at 10 pm. I’m about ready to make a break for Lake Superior myself. The Ontario side. Hope you get your friend and yourself up here one day. It’s repays the effort.
