It has been an April sort of day, with thick clouds spitting rain on the spring flowers and on Miss Sadie, the Cowboy and me. We made one circuit of Eden Shores and came to a decision. It would be prudent to move away from the trees that creaked and twisted in the wind. We headed down to the Bay. It was a fine day for a run on the beach, sand in our hair, lake in our shoes. We watched gulls rocket past as if they’d been thrown from a slingshot. They tumbled and spun and turned around and flew back, into the wind this time, defying probability. No one else was down there. Imagine that.

Hey. No fair. I’m inside the greenhouse all day and you’re catching my clouds. Now cut that out.

Don’t think of it as catching – think of it as retrieving them for you. Now you can have a nice cup of tea and look at them. And I’ll bet it smelled better in the greenhouse than it did down on the beach.

The flowers are lovely, but that photo that’s all water and rock, with the big rock in the middle and the almost-cairn toward the bottom? It’s my favorite of all the photos I’ve seen here to date. That’s art. It makes me want to write something about rocks, just so I can ask to use the photo. 😉

Thank you. I like that spot. The big rock is really big.

Thank you. I am fond of the slideshow option. I tried to get a picture of the gulls but they blew by too fast.

Thanks for the pictures. Brings all the memories of times in all kinds of weather spent there front and center. I love those rainy and windy days.

Me too, although I loved them even better when I could enjoy conversation and a cup of coffee by the woodstove. Treasured memories.

Brrr….raw nature. You did find signs of Spring which can only mean it is really here. Right?

Well I sure hope so, but it is just a bit nippy right now.

Would have liked to see the lake like that. I saw a couple of birds shoot past me too, one especially caught my attention, a duck, going downwind…seemed to be just having the best time, flying with what looked like no effort. Then I wondered how he’d get home.

Maybe the wind will shift . . .
The lake is like that quite frequently, though big gray cloudbanks are uncommon in summer. Maybe you should come now. Chris and Sonny are opening the Market on April 27.

would love to. Have to see how things progress with brother-in-law first though. And have to tell Katie’s dad that she and I are going on an adventure. He’ll think that is silly, taking her, but she loves adventure!

My heart goes out to you and your family, Dawn. Whenever you think an Adventure might provide some comfort tuck Katie and Katie’s dad into the car and point it north.

Awwww that’s so sweet, thanks Gerry. Katie’s Dad is at the hospital again tonight. I was too tired after a 12 hour day at work. We’ll see how things go.

I love lake shore where you live Gerry. It looks so wild and untouched. What a wonderful place to walk.
I wish Blogger had that slide show option too.

Thank you. It is a wonderful place to walk. Not really untouched, but definitely wild.
