There are many, many kinds of people in the world, among them people who think that it is possible to have entirely too many sunsets, thank you very much. I do not understand that position. I stand four-square with Babs Young in the “never too many sunsets” camp. She writes: I’ve been spending a lot of time in East Jordan lately and so caught this sunset on the South Arm of a very calm Lake Charlevoix recently. I, for one, am very happy to add this to my sunset collection.

Beautiful. I’m happy to add it to my collection, too. We rarely get to see such still water here. Even when the wind lays, the tidal movement can keep things stirred a little. This is remarkable.

That’s an interesting observation. Now I’m thinking about how the Jordan River empties into the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix, which empties into Lake Charlevoix, which empties into Round Lake, which empties into a tiny little channel that I think is still called the Pine River, but whatever it is called it empties into Grand Traverse Bay. You would think that would make a current that would disturb the mirror-like stillness. Of course I’ve long ago understood that every now and then Mama Nature lays on something special and says “Here, Babs – show ’em this.”

So beautiful….I personally can never get enough sunsets or sunrises. A spectacular sight and a reminder of things larger than ourselves.
Happy Spring Gerry!

Happy Spring! I rely heavily on sunrises and sunsets myself.

I haven’t met a “too many sunsets” person, and would be happy to keep it that way.
Lovely shot.

I’ve met lots of lovely people who think there is altogether too much attention paid to sunsets and would prefer to see more variety in photographic rapture. It isn’t that they don’t appreciate a good sunset, mind you, it’s just that they feel they have enough of them in their collections and are now looking for something fresh. They keep me on my toes Around Here.

Sunset happens every day. Not possible to have too many. Keep ’em coming!

If we must have yet another sunset, this is the one to have. What a lovely picture.

Thank you. This is why I generally leave Babs in charge of the sunsets. I am in charge of the livestock, and the dictionary.

Never too many. Each is unique and will never be seen just exactly the same again.

They are, aren’t they. Good to have a westward window.

Too many sunsets ? I feel like saying “never enough” !This one is spectacular and soothing. Ours are highlighting the Alps, playing hide and seek behind mountains, both close and so far away. As Dawn writes, always unique. Gorgeous picture.

Thank you Isa. I think the reason the earth is designed with your mountains and our lakes so far apart is that if a person were to see both of them at the same time, the person would be struck blind from the excess of beauty. Or maybe there’s another reason, who knows.

It’s georgous, there is no such thing as too many sunsets.

Wow! Stunning image. I have to agree. One can never have too many sunsets. Or sunrises, for that matter.
