Happy New Year!! I had hoped for a really spectacular snow picture today. We are in the middle of a Blizzard Warning, but so far it’s just blown and rained and snowed some, but didn’t stick much. It’s now colder and we may have a foot on the ground by morning, but that didn’t help me much. So here are our two kitties, Hecate and Selene keeping warm under the tree. I hope all your wishes come true in the new year.

Happy New Year to you all, may your blizzard be gentle…

Thank you Mrs. Uhdd. We are all cheered by the thought of a gentle blizzard. So far the wind is howling so fiercely that it hasn’t stopped to drop any snow on Eastport to speak of. This leaves me to wonder if they aren’t being hammered in Kalkaska. I believe I’ll stay over here with candles at the ready.
Happy New Year to you, too. May there be no more tumbles and no more trips to the emergency room for anyone in the household.

Happy New Year to you Gerry…and to all the kitties and dogs and people in your life! I thought we’d have snow pictures this morning too, but so far only wind and cold and a dusting of white stuff that isn’t photogenic. Even if I plant Katie in the middle of it.

Thank you Dawn, and a Happy New Year to you. We’re getting that blowing and dusting too. If you were to plant Katie in the middle of that you’d get a Portrait in Reproach. Today is a day for indoor photos of the pretty girl.

Happy New Year Margie. I knew you’d love the kitties. They are particularly nice ones I must say.

One of those kitties looks a bit ticked off. “Human, get that camera outta my face”
Happy 2012 !

Happy 2012, Sybil. I suspect the grumpy look has more to do with having been made to come back indoors after a clever escape had been effected. They are commiserating. Also plotting.

Thank you, Gerry! And are those two dilute torties? They look remarkably similar! Beautiful. And our mean ol’ winds are racing your way today, but with no precip. And a forecast of 40 on Friday! I hope spring isn’t hoarding all the wet stuff….scary thought!

Those kitties are beauties. I’ll leave it to Babs to say just what kind they might be – that’s completely beyond my ken.
I heard your winds. They blew all night, raised Cain down on the beach, and brought practically no snow. It’s still raging out there, but just a bit of snowdust flying around. I have no idea what’s coming next, but I think I’d better hunker down.

We will have plenty of opportunities to post snow pictures. I appreciate the colorful, cozy cats today.
So have you heard that a foot of snow is supposedly on its way to us?

Cozy is an excellent way to begin the year. I like cozy.
I have heard all manner of weather rumors. I’m going to go do laundry. At least I’ll have lots of clean warm clothes to pile on when the power goes out.

Those kitties look very proud of themselves to be occupying the space under the tree. I can confirm your suspicions of Kalkaska. We got about a half a foot overnight and it’s been coming down heavy all morning. I hope we all get to keep our power! Cheers for the new year 🙂

In my experience, those particular kitties assume that such luxury is merely their due. They are correct.
So you’re getting slammed, eh? Right now it’s just flying right past me and on to you. (You can have this batch. I can wait.) Best of luck with the power. May you have a very cozy New Year.

Those kitties are about 5 and were rescued from Detroit. They are sisters and I am told are diluted Calicoes. The woman who rescued them thought they were moon goddesses, and they are, so she gave them moon goddess names, Hecate and Selene. We have had sisters before, but these two are inseparable. They are together most of the time and about as lovable as two cats can be.

There you have it – the definitive genealogy of Hecate and Selene, moon goddesses. I can attest that they are about as lovable as two cats can be, and soft. Very, very soft.

Loved the kitties picture, our tree is still up too. Happy New Year to all!
Stayed in all yesterday, cozy is a great word for yesterday!
I like the new look too!

Happy New Year, Chris! I stayed in, too, horsing with the remodeling, but the best part of the day was dinnertime. We broiled a nice piece of salmon and everyone had a little bit. OK, I had a large bit. Age before beauty. But we all enjoyed it very much. Hope 2012 brings you all kinds of good things. I don’t see how you can go wrong with half a dozen grandchildren to hug.

Happy New Year, and congratulations with your new blog design. It´s always nice with a little re-decoration. The cats looks very cute and very polite.

Cute they may be, but somehow “polite” is not a word I associate with the moon goddesses. Devious, clever, determined . . . and always impeccably well-groomed. Maybe not polite.

I’m just undone by the beauty of those kitties. Happy New Year to them, and Babs, and you, Gerry, and all who inhabit this place.
I’m so looking forward to the new year, and to keeping up with you in it!

Those kitties have that effect on people. That is why they get away with so much.

Coming in late with this comment. I hesitated before I said “torties”, I thought calico, but decided on tortie. I do agree. Much more calico. Lovely!

Breeds of cat are a complete mystery to me. I divide them into tiger-stripe cats with green eyes and attitude, pure white cats with blue eyes and attitude, midnight black cats with golden eyes and attitude—and bobcats.
