Late last night Katherine wrote: Had my head buried in my computer this evening trying to figure something out and looked up (and outside) to this, grabbed my camera and stood out in awe and wonder.
In the distance fog flows down the ridge and spreads itself over the water. The last rose of the setting sun is on the clouds. A tall white pine rises into the sky, reminding us of what we once were. Birds settle in the trees, murmuring. And standing there on the beach with Katherine, we see it all, as if it were the fifth day of creation.

What a lovely post !
Perhaps the world would be a better place if god had stopped on the morning of the 6th day, before he made man.

Dunno. I’m fond of human beings. That’s my species, so I’m inclined to cut us some slack. Mama Nature may feel differently.

WOW!!!!! Stunning!
Big Girl and I have been taking a class together in painting with watercolors. I am going to use this photo as inspiration for my next project. So beautiful. Thanks for sharing it Gerry. 🙂

You are entirely welcome. We take inspiration where we find it, don’t we? So much depends on happenstance and red wheelbarrows in the rain.

The tall pine reminds us what we once were… Very beautiful evening. I am now relaxing onto sleep and waiting for the sixth day.

Knitting up the odd raveled sleeve, are we? What a good idea. Wonder if I can persuade the fur children . . .

It all looks so crisp and clean, untouched by human hand. Maybe we just all need to take a deep breath and remember that sights like this were around long before we were, and will still be there when we’re gone.
