On March 2, 2008, Babs Young started sending excellent visual treats to Torch Lake Views, and things began to get interesting around here. Collaboration is a wonderful thing, not just because I get to watch somebody else work (always my favorite pastime), but because it makes me see better. It makes me want to think more deeply. Well, that and it dresses the place up a treat.
Thank you, Babs. It is an astonishing amount of fun to see what you come up with every week. (Click away—we have bigger versions.)

Gerry, hats off to Babs–and you, for providing her a space to showcase her beautiful photos! It’s nice when a blog can be a collaborative effort. I like getting aerial photos from Mike and wolf photos from Lori and guest blogs. It feels more like a family effort.

An anniversary with potential to make many people happy.
This collection of beautiful images calls for a voting.
I personally prefer No. —
Nop! It’s impossible. It depends on mood, because they are all good.
Silky Milkweed is awesome – as the sunset – and the Ed Hopper-like spire.
Congratulations!

Thank you, Carsten!
Imagine the challenge of curating the exhibit from among nearly 200 of Babs’s photos! (Just to give you an idea–there were two milkweed photos, taken a year apart, that were both in the running until the very last minute.)

Such beautiful photos, each in its own style and mood ! I think the lama appreciates them all 😉 I would not know which one to choose but the Monet pond and flowers certainly appeals to me. Thanks to Bab for sending those delightful images and to you for sharing them. Great team !

We so enjoy your beautiful pictures of Torch and areas around. It brings back beautiful memories. The pictures also show us the beautiful things that a summer resident never sees. Keep them coming!

What a lovely arrangement you’ve made of Babs’ images. It looks like a quilt with a fine balance of hues and textures.

Thank you, Amy. Balance is not always my best thing, we all know that, but I was hoping to achieve it here.
