A little something special

Babs reminds us that local artists make the most wonderful things.  If you’re looking for a little present for someone you love, you might find just the right thing at the Holiday Art Sale.  Babs writes:  This is the Jordan River Arts Council’s building in East Jordan. Today was the opening of the Holiday Art Sale. It was very well attended and I urge those from up here to get over there for some excellent shopping. For those not from around here this is an example of an excellent reuse of old Carnegie Library. This one was granted $10,000 in February of 1915 for its construction.. It’s a well used building today that serves this community well.

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you.

Isn’t that a handsome building though? “I’ll build it,” said Andrew Carnegie, “if you fill it with books and maintain it.” Communities all across the nation took him up on it. A fine thing, a public library.
