Our Babs has been finding some great perspectives lately. This morning’s email brought a new one. She wrote: This is a rooftop spire on Building 50 of what was once known as the Northern Michigan Asylum in Traverse City. It is currently under development by the Minervini Group into both commercial and residential space. Here is the Wikipedia link for more info. It’s also worth a visit when in Traverse City.
You can read more about the Village at Grand Traverse Commons here. It really is turning into a wonderful neighborhood–very walkable, filled with mature trees and lovely views. Lots of places selling excellent treats. I’ll bet they have broadband, too.

That’s a beautiful photograph.
We used to have an “asylum” not far from here, closed down many years ago. It was knocked down to build a shiny new HQ for a major bank. Bad jokes abounded!

I liked this photo a lot, too. It is very difficult to keep something bright white in sharp focus against a dark sky. (Of course, Babs had the advantage of a white object that was not going anywhere I add grumpily.)
