Babs has been out and about across the Bay, giving her time for some reflection. She writes: Recently I was in Suttons Bay for a nice sunset looking to the east. If you squint you can see Torch Lake Township way in the distance.
Every week photographer Babs Young captures moments in northern Michigan, and every week she sends one to Torch Lake Views just for you. You can find more of her photos at the Babs Young Photo Archives and on her Blue Heaven Flickr photostream.

Good morning, Gerry. Many’s the morning and evening I look across Grand Traverse Bay and think I spy you there at Barnes Park, just across the water. “Backwards sunsets” are beautiful over water or fields.

Next time I’m over there I will wave at you! Just in case. I like “backwards sunsets” too. They also occur on the reflective glass curtain walls of urban office buildings, which gives a person something restful to look at while sitting in a traffic jam.

That is one calm lake. Beautiful colors and reflections.

Astonishing, isn’t it, how the Great Lakes (and their Bays) can be so still . . . and then so ferocious.
