I am a sucker for new WordPress toys, so when I saw the Post by Voice announcement on Matt’s blog I had to try it. If it works well I’m going to go down on the beach during the next big storm and phone it in, crashing waves, thunder and all. OK, maybe not. But I am definitely going to get Louan to sing Singin’ in the Nude for you.

Gerry, it’s YOU!! Ohmy goodness! You are live & real for all of us. We are–I’m sure–totally in awe of your reality. Hi Ms. Sadie! Hi Cowboy!

Now, see, the next thing you know Matt’ll put the staff on developing audio comments. Dunno if I’m ready for THAT much reality. Miss Sadie and the Cowboy say hello back, but I’m not letting them bark online.

How neat! I enjoyed hearing you ‘talk to yourself’ with the dulcimer in the background. Nice hearing you, Gerry. 🙂
Have a great and safe 4th!

Thank you, Anna. It was an interesting experiment, although I do not like the sound of my own voice. This is looking like a great weekend here. A great and safe 4th to you as well!

We enjoyed listening to you and look forward to more. I am inspired to send you an audio email attachment.

Or, of course, we could just pick up the phone and talk to each other!

I saw that announcement of the new WordPress toy too. You are brave! That was pretty cool, but I don’t think I’ll be trying it any time soon. I’ve never liked the sound of my voice – when I hear it I’m always like, “is that really me?” I feel like I read somewhere that we sound so differently to ourselves because the bone of our skulls is a nice -oh, what’s the word, its on the tip of my tongue – “filter” is the best I can come with – for sound.

I am never brave, just foolhardy. I don’t like the sound of my own voice either, and I particularly didn’t like the sound on this experiment. Louan made me feel better–she says it sounds much higher than my real voice. I think if I decide to do more audio on TLV I will have to purchase the capacity to upload .wav files.

Happy 4th of July Gerry.
I like hearing your voice.
It gives so much to the image with sound. Nice to hear the music, and even better hearing you.

Thank you, Carsten. Most of my friends here say that the clip doesn’t sound a whole lot like me, and I hope they are right, but at least it gives you an idea of what I might sound like on a very bad connection!

Way cool. Can’t wait to see what you do with this in the future.

I think you can count on hearing the waves on the Bay, but whether via the phone-in post or a .wav file I don’t know yet.
