Katherine was visiting her Aunt Betty and captured the ever-changing display that lives on the kitchen windowsill.
I think it’s absolutely mesmerizing. Bonnie, Beloved of Bob, is going to love it. And here I am on a Thursday afternoon scheduling Friday’s post! Thank you Katherine, most excellent fence-painter.

Gerry, how right you are. I love Cobalt Blue whether in glass or flowers or any thing else. I have a blue delphinium blooming on my patio right now and I love to look out at it and be amazed. There are not suppose to be any true blue flowers, but whoever said that would have to utter a retraction if they were to see this one.

I think there’s a poem in there somewhere–blue is a subject well worth exploring.

It’s a very intense color. Beautiful.
Who painted the windowsill? Katherine?

The windowsill is ceramic tile–I don’t know whether it was hand-painted or a commercial product. We shall have to ask Betty and/or Katherine about it. Someday I will have to arrange a tour of Betty’s house on Torch Lake Views. It is an extraordinary place.

Mrs. Uhdd, I never knew about Bristol blue glass before. Thank you! Bonnie’s going to like that, too. Astonishing how important lead is.

I love blue glass and bottles. Lovely! The one that looks like a vase with the crystal stopper is very unique!

I love the way Betty arranges objects in pleasing ways, cheerfully mixing dimestore trinkets with fine crystal, or children’s thank you notes with historic photos and her own exquisite paintings.
It all works.

I believe the tiles are hand done by Bolts but am not sure

It could be. We must ask Betty. It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that she’d done them herself. One day we must post a photo of the blue birds on the kitchen ceiling.

The blue color looks even more deep and beautiful when used at these glass.
Let me use the blue color to lead to the Swedish flag, and tell you, -having Swedish roots-, that the princess of Sweden are going to get married today…right now actually. I´m sending you a link to the direct TV transmission. There are some commercials now and then, but you will be able to follow the guests arrive to the church. 🙂

I´m watching it now in my study. Mu husband has declared the living room royal-free zone today.

Now, see, how many tiny little Up North Michigan communities can boast their own live link to a royal wedding? And there are a lot of people with Swedish ancestry around here, too.
Of course, the lamentable lack of broadband means that we will have to wait quite some time for the link to download, so I believe I’ll go do some laundry and come back and watch later.
We, um, declared the whole country a royal-free zone back in 1776, but we’ve been nostalgic for princesses ever since. Guys just don’t get how much fun it is to watch princesses get married.
