Postcard from Katherine: Kentucky treasures

Seems everyone has been on a road trip this spring.  Katherine Berst (and Steve, and Maya) went to Kentucky.  She writes:  I love junk, treasures, salvage, old stuff nobody wants, antiques, whatever you want to call it, Louisville has two of the coolest “salvage” places I’ve ever been in. Here’s one photo of 1:1000th of the stuff there is to look at (or buy). Fortunately I have a small car!

Salvage

I hate to see perfectly good stuff go into a landfill.  Materials Unlimited in Ypsilanti, Odom Re-use in Grawn, and the Habitat for Humanity resale shops have made a good thing out of refurbishing and selling salvaged doors, windows, fixtures, flooring.  So who knows – maybe Greg Pardee is onto something with his Eastport Flea Market idea.  (Katherine – what did you manage to stuff into the small car?)
