It’s not uncommon to see a face peering out of a tree. However, Katherine has found a Picasso drawing in an ancient birch at Katy Newman’s.
We discussed mimetoliths last week. I wonder if we should have a category for mimeto-trees?
We have also discussed that Thomasina Sawyer loves getting other people to do her work for her. It was nice of Katherine to take a turn painting the Torch Lake Views fence while I am on vacation with the Disreputable Duo.

I wouldn’t have guessed Picasso, but it does look like his work! I see two people who are engaged in intimate communication. At first I thought ‘The Kiss’ would be an appropriate title, but Klimt already has a famous painting by that name. What about ‘The Whisper?’ Alternatively, the tree could be called ‘The Whispering Birch.’
Leonardo da Vinci wrote that it was good practice to look at cracked walls and other surfaces to see what images lay hidden there. I’m sure he would be impressed with your recent discoveries 🙂
