Click for click, these were readers’ favorite posts on Torch Lake Views during 2008:
- ERN – Milk Shake! and the linked page of photos (Milk hauler jack-knifes on Essex Road). What is it with tow trucks and milk haulers? Month after month, this post is always a winner.
- Babs got dig-effects! Also bears. Or wolves. Howling. Everybody loves Babs and everybody’s googling wolves. If Babs ever takes a photo of a wolf chasing a milk hauler across frozen Torch Lake, we’ll all be famous.
- Dedicated to the future: Community Service Building opens. This one is popular because it has pictures of practically everybody in the Township.
- The nooks, the crannies, the incredibly perfect ways to spend part of your vacation in Torch Lake Township and Torch Lake Township Visitors Guide available at local businesses. Lots of tourists come here and spend most of their vacations wandering around looking for things. We figured if we could help them find things they’d relax, slow down, stay longer, buy waterfront real estate . . . It’s working, too.
- Post Pantry: Michael and Me, Diving for Guns in Torch Lake, and Staying out of Jail . Must be the title.
- The Alba Injection Well and Why It Matters to Torch Lake Township. The controversy continues, and people find their way to the site looking for more information about an issue they care about.
- Betty Beeby’s Sturdy Stable Artist’s Fables. Betty’s a perennial favorite around here, and this post was fun to do.
- Spring sunset over Antrim County. This is one of my favorite Babs Young photos, and apparently you like it too. A lot.
- Berging the Carp and Carving the Wolf. Must be the tail end of winter. More Babs, more wolves.
- The farms of Antrim. Record-Eagle readers linked to this post from the full story on the R-E site.

Rascal. We’re going to start throwing snowballs at you. I, too, am sipping iced tea. It started out as hot tea, but . . .
PS: Aren’t the fans heavy?
