We had quite a little blow last night. As predicted, ice mountains are beginning to grow along the shore. The wind scoured a lot of snow off the beach and flung it up on the bluff—and then scoured the sand off and flung it on top of the snow. Very decorative. Looks like someone’s been stirring up a batch of caramel-vanilla cookies. The dogs love it. It’s perfect camouflage for them. They were excited to be frisking about off leash, playing hide and seek, sampling freeze-dried carrion. I was excited because for an hour there was hardly any wind at all and there were definite blue patches in the sky.

Hey – I had snow on two of my blogs but I took it off one I am working on a lot. It’s still on topcatrules:

The “falling snow” effect will appear on TLV between now and early January, so if people read this post in March they won’t know what we’re going on about! I’m enjoying it.

I love viewing your winterscapes with the falling snowflakes…especially this morning with snain and ice pellets and fog (which I sometimes love, but I have to DRIVE in it today). Perhaps this is a mark of the economy, but last weekend for the first time in 30 years, some young boys came by to shovel my driveway ($8.00). Or maybe they feel sorry for the elderly woman at the end of the block. Which reminds me…for the FIRST TIME, the Wendy’s girl gave me a SENIOR discount without me asking. What a bummer. Looking forward to the the North Country snow…Katy

I’m glad you’re looking forward to the snow, Katy, ’cause there’s plenty of it, and it’s still falling, here, there, and everywhere in between. It may take you a lot longer than usual to get up here, but it will be a Zen-like experience . . .
