Let’s have a word about the weather, Mama Nature. We agreed that I would stop whining about the cold back in April when, let’s face it, we always have some rotten lousy gray rainy . . . I’m sorry. I promised. But Mama, it’s MAY now. Cherry blossoms. Nectarine blossoms. Buzzing bees. Morel mushrooms. Baby robins. Look at this poor little baby robin shivering away. Katy Newman, who took this picture, felt sorry for the little guy, and so do I. We, the people of Torch Lake Township, respectfully request some pretty weather. If you can’t do it for us, Mama, do it for the robin!

Have courage. Spring is here. Today, our visiting daughter and I planted 4 flats of flowers in the front beds, daring an overnight frost.
Our neighbor found 8 Morels in his new Pine Hill mulch, where nary a mushroom had grown before. Imagine-a manicured yard and bonus morels for breakfast!
Have faith-sunburned noses cannot be far behind.

I do believe Mama was listening, for it surely has warmed up. Boy, if word gets around that morels are popping up in Pine Hill’s mulch they won’t be able to keep it in stock!

OH WHAT AN ADORABLE BABY BIRD. Congratulate Katy Newman again. Oh wouldn’t you love to get a photo like that?
