I know snowbirds like to be reassured that it is a good idea to spend January (and February, and March) in Florida or other parts warmer. Here, depending on personal taste, is evidence that they were right to flee before the (shiver) Snow arrived – or evidence that they are missing extraordinary beauty . . .

This photo could almost persuade me to visit Torch Lake in winter.
As I sit looking out the window at the rain clouds, I really would like to go up to the Angeles Forest as we did when the kids were home. We could toboggan down the slopes with them and drink hot chocolate.
