Babs has been down to Elk Rapids pondering the year's mortality. She writes: Most of the boats are now gone from Grace Memorial Harbor in Elk Rapids. So I guess fall is really here. The cool temps are a good indicator too, but this was a recent spectacular sunset.

Babs writes: This is from last Thursday evening in Elk Rapids at Veterans’ Memorial Park where Art Rapids! sponsored Classical Jazz Fusion by Nancy Stagnitta, flute; Ron Getz, guitar; Jeff Beaven, bass; Randy Marsh, drums. It was a perfect evening. Great music, good weather and a grand sunset.
Orange Cone Season on US-31

Winter is definitely over. That must mean it's, yes, Orange Cone Season in Michigan! Beginning next week (July 18 onward) you can expect intermittent lane closures between the northern edge of Elk Rapids and Campbell Road.
