Babs Young was up in Charlevoix last week. She writes, I like that that they painted the Charlevoix Light red. It wears this color well.
Indeed it does, especially on a bright and breezy February day. I like that Babs chose a different vantage point than the standard one, and managed to capture the atmosphere of the whole town in winter. In the summer there’s a steady parade of boats in this channel. In February, ah, that’s something else again. A bright blue February day in Charlevoix is a pleasure reserved for the connoisseur.

What a beautiful sweeping shot with the eye resting on the red Charlevoix lighthouse.

Thanks, Anna – I thought Babs did well here. There’s just something about that lighthouse . . . everyone goes there to watch the sun go down, watch the boats go by, think thoughts, kiss sweetly, get engaged. I go 17 miles to get there, so I’m not there as often as I might be, but I’ve seen all those things.

Beautiful view ! and a place I could certainly spend a lot of time in. Walking along the lake, sitting somewhere with a book or just enjoy the landscape.

It is a good spot. The walking just now is brisk, but in the summer it’s a fine place to read a book or watch the passing parade.

They are all well-earned, too, Babs. Your photos dress this place up a treat.
I see you made an avatar. Nice one.
