That pretty much sums up a lot of my week. I’d tell you all about it but I’m off to the other day job. Let me link you to another poem by Wendell Berry. I found this one in my daily Writer’s Almanac today, and it was quite a comfort: XI. from Leavings. Back later.

That is a lovely poem, Gerry, and I hope that, whatever ills the week has brought you, next week will be better. (You are already such a positive person that you don’t need to be told that any given day might also have been worse.) You make the world brighter for others, don’t forget. How can we brighten yours? Hugs!

The poem all by itself made all better. Hugs are a bonus and will be banked against the next irritating day. The coming week is going to be lovely, as I will be seeing Rob the Firefighter and the Lady Alicia and a pile of friends and relatives, every last one of them dear. I really love Thanksgiving.

Still
the world persisted in its beauty,
he in his gratitude, and for this
he had most earnestly prayed.
Yes.
I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving, Gerry. And thank goodness for poems and hugs and friendship that help us through the more challenging days (or weeks).

Thank you. It's going to be lovely - with Rob and Alicia. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
