Babs Young writes: I love the milkweed pods when they do this. So I’ve been stopping along the roads to take their picture.
I also put some some of the Loeb farm pictures up on Flickr. You can find them here.
Nice textures and colors, Babs. D’you think I could have called this “Bouquet with bokeh”?

Gorgeous shot simply gorgeous. What do the flowers look like? Are milkweed only stunning in death?

Milkweed is one of my favorite plants. I never get tired of studying it. The flower is not dramatic, but . . . I’m simply going to have to show you. Back later.
OK, more work to do, but in the meantime here’s Katherine’s very different take on milkweed in November.

This is a stunning and, yes, very nice bokeh.

Love your crisp photo of this bountiful, kinesthetic (touchy-feely) plant. I share a similar admiration for milkweed and the butterflies, particularly monarchs, that go with it.
Reposting with a link to your blog. Thanks!

That is a lovely milkweed photograph. The warm background tones set off the gossamer threads. I happen to think that milkweed is stunning earlier in its life, too. You have to get in close to appreciate the unassuming flowers, but when you do the reward is doubled, thanks to the heady perfume.

Thanks, PJ – If WordPress starts working more normally I’m going to post a whole page of milkweed pictures. Wish I could post the fragrance . . .
