OK, we’re not re-creating the whole Township. We like the lakes just where they are, for example. But we are trying to figure out priorities for recreational facilities and programs and we need to know what you think. Soooo . . . on Saturday, August 22, from 10:00 am until noon, we’re having Lemonade in the Park (the Bill Good Day Park over on Torch Lake) and you are invited.
The “we” is the Recreational Plan Committee (Carrie Perez, Sue Sarin, Sharon Philion and yours truly, with Dick Saul lending a hand). The “you” is any Torch Lake Township resident or property owner. It’s your tax money that will get spent on whatever plans are made and approved by the Board, so you might want to say what it is you’d like to have. Or not have. We made a point of inviting children because we really, really want to hear from young families and we wanted to make it easy for all of you to attend.
This is the time to speak up. Otherwise, you know how Miss Sadie and the Cowboy are, we’ll end up spending googillions of dollars on a fancy dog park with treat dispensers.
If you can’t come, you can email Carrie just like it says in the flyer. You can put a comment right here on this post. I, um, did tell you all about the Committee once before (Come out and play) with a notable lack of response. Perhaps it was the lack of treats. I’m giving it another shot.
You can talk to any of us about your ideas, anytime. But I hope you’ll come to the Park on Saturday. For one thing, it would be nice to see you. And there will be treats.
