Babs Young has been over in East Jordan all weekend working on the installation of the current JRAC show. She writes:

This is the hand of Chris Allen-Wickler carefully placing another of the 1000+ rocks in her Big Heart sculpture on a wall at the Jordan River Arts Council. Each rock has had a groove cut into it and fine wire carefully wrapped around it with a loop in the back to hang the rock. This piece is part of a show called Rooting Deep Branching Out. What does it mean to live up north?

Chris is a fiber artist from Sutton’s Bay, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. She was educated at Cranbrook .

And there you have the finished piece, and the tired artist. (I can’t help it. I wonder if there’s a Petoskey stone in there somewhere.)
