Over in Central Lake a new sign points readers to the Friends of the Library used book store. It’s a dandy place filled with inexpensive children’s storybooks, Michigan history, classic novels, mysteries, biographies, cookbooks—something for everyone who likes to read. Every Fourth of July the Friends put up a big tent on the lawn and have a real blowout of a used book sale. It spills over to the Community Room at the Library, and this year it runs all day Saturday and Sunday.
We dropped by on Wednesday, and found Jim Trojanek and Mar DeTar sorting books. By Friday afternoon the tent was up and filled with tables of books. By 4pm on Sunday they’ll all be gone, so I recommend you head over there Saturday morning.

Thanks for writing about our book sale. It is great fun to work on. Dick and I see lots of people we haven’t seen in a long time, and the proceeds help the Friends of the CL District Library support projects for the library and literacy projects in the community.
