Practically everywhere in the Township is within view of a largish body of water, so it’s odd to see puffs of dust as we drive sandy two-tracks, or to hear the crunch of dry leaves as we walk along the lane behind the Writing Studio and Bait Shop. That’s the way it’s been for much of this spring. It’s lovely to have some gentle rain at last.
My grandfather used to remind us that “into each life some rain must fall,” which is sort of like my sister-in-law’s “nobody jumps the puddle.” After the long dry spell we’ve had, this particular life is very glad to welcome a little gentle rain, and I believe I’m going to go splash around in some puddles.
If we have a week of it, you may return to these pages to hear me grousing about it.

It’s raining here in London today, which gardeners will welcome as the ground was starting to get rather dry. We don’t want that at this time of year when everything is striving to grow.
Enjoy splashing in the puddles!

Flighty, how nice of you to drop by! Your garden is so lovely that I hope it gets everything it needs all summer long.

Those photos look so refreshing, especially with the white flowers. Spring greens are fresh to start off with, but seeing them wet makes them even more so.

I’m enjoying it. The morning walk with the Disreputable Duo grows greener every day. I think the moisture is releasing lots of scents, too, as the dogs are very busy snuffling.

If “into each life some rain must fall”…could we get some more? Well, we did get 1/10th of an inch last night, but we’re greedy for some more.
