I think Woody dropped by to check on the temperature, Katherine! He was swooping about in our woods the other day, too—when the dogs and I went for our walk we heard his chuckling call.
I never would have thought of it myself, but maybe you would: The Eastport Market sells nice net bags of suet in the meat case. Nail one to a tree near your window and I’ll bet Woody visits you, too.

Wow…great shot Katherine! My local woodpeckers have decided the old wood siding on my house makes a good sounding board every spring. No need for alarm clocks that time of year.
