Babs writes: As you can see we have plenty of snow and we even have had a little sun now and then. This structure is located on Bennett Hill Road just east of Church Road. For all who are not up here, I want to announce that at least the north end of Torch Lake froze over last night. And it’s forecast to stay below freezing for awhile, so ice fishing may be here soon.

I think I photographed this place back in May, and then used it in The Farms of Antrim in August (sometimes I’m a little slow to post). Babs and Katherine and Katy and I sometimes notice the same things, each in our own quirky way, ascribing different meanings or shades of meaning to the same landscapes. I like that.
Every week photographer Babs Young captures moments in northern Michigan, and every week she sends one—and sometimes more than one!—to Torch Lake Views just for you. You can find more of her photos by following the Babs Young Photos link in the Categories list over in the right column, or by going to her Michigan Pictures Archives: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Love that photo! It would be fun to see the contrasting with another season.
