The Weather Widget in the right column is flashing one of its red Advisory! messages. Following the link to Weather Underground we find:
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 am EST Friday. Widespread snow will continue across northwest lower Michigan through this evening. Precipitation will then transition to lake effect snow showers within developing west to northwest winds overnight . . . persisting through early Friday morning. Total snowfall . . . will range from one to two feet . . . Significant amounts of snow will make
travel dangerous. If you must travel . . . use extreme caution.
Well. I guess that puts a crimp in my plans for the rest of the week. I am likely to be limited to traveling with extreme caution to the IGA and back, hoping that the power stays on so that I can write grumpy blog posts for the entertainment of the California relatives. It’s a good thing I stopped at King’s yesterday for apples. We can eat those raw. But pity the poor Cowboy, He and Miss Sadie went to the groomer yesterday, and today he is a shorn lamb. This was entirely necessary, as he had an unfortunate encounter, which he begs me not to mention. Suffice it to say that we have been engaged in intensive housecleaning, and he has a lot less insulation than he had yesterday.

Maybe Amore has a sweater he can borrow. I think the Cowboy would look cute in pink.

I agree. But what he really wants to borrow is Amore’s flameproof booties.

Crikey – I’m sitting here in a singlet top and with bare feet. 🙂

You and the Cowboy both, Leslie. He begs to know whether you would welcome an extended visit from an engaging little spaniel. His bare feet are a bit chilly just now.

“Well. I guess that puts a crimp in my plans for the rest of the week”
Now, if only you had planned the week to be “shoveling”, your plans would be going great now, wouldn’t they?

Food for thought, d, though “plowing” would have been an even better plan. According to today’s Writer’s Almanac Rilke said “The purpose of life is to be defeated by greater and greater things.” In search of ever greater things, I think I’ll put on my snowpants and take the dogs on an expedition in search of the road.
