Letters from Katherine: Fall horses in black and white and splendor

Katherine remains in her Black and White Period.  She writes: This was taken on my way to somewhere (and I’m getting old because I can’t remember where).  I think it was somewhere near Ellsworth?  Maybe between there and Central Lake?

Wherever she found the horses, the image is arresting.  I’m particularly struck by the fall trees glowing yellow in this black and white photo . . . in my mind anyway.
