Until recently, I was the beloved pet of a very nice human named Ann. We had an excellent arrangement. She provided food, a soft warm bed, and lots of petting. I purred becomingly, and talked with her about the issues of the day. She spoke very good Siamese, for a human. She’s gone now, and I miss her terribly. I am also out of a job. I’d like to find another, suited to my qualifications. My resume is attached.
Name: Sammy
Address: Eastport, Michigan
Gender: Female. (I know you’re not allowed to ask this legally, but cats don’t really give a rodent’s rear about the law, and besides, I have been surgically altered to, let us say, prevent unwanted additions to the household.)
Age: 6. OK, maybe 7 but who’s counting. (You’re not allowed to ask this, either, you know.)
Shots: Of course.
Claws: Of course. A lady can never be too careful around canines.
Experience:
Longtime First Cat and Primary Purring Provider, Ann Bretz Household.
- Sleek, soft, and obviously very attractive.
- Received numerous commendations and was promoted regularly, moving from First Kitten to First Cat in the remarkable span of only six years. OK, seven.
- Excellent mouser. (I don’t actually catch and eat them – are you kidding? Eeuw! – I simply persuade them that it is in their best interest to find other accommodations.)
- Devoted to the Torch Lake Township Community.

Please contact the applicant in care of Torch Lake Views via comment or the Contact Us email up in the right hand corner of the blog. I would be delighted to discuss my qualifications further with you in purrrrson.
Thank you for your consideration,
Sammy

Gerry, I’m a member of the catblogosphere – a contact blogging group for cat owners. Do you want me to put a link on there to this post?
Most of the members are in the US.

Hi Leslie – Thank you, it couldn’t hurt. But please let everyone know that Sammy would prefer not to relocate at present, as she has many friends in Torch Lake Township.

Thanks Gerry, Really appreciate it, I’d take her but I can’t because of allergies.

Update. Maryanne Jorgensen offered Sammy a home, and they had a little trial period. Sammy did not care for Maryanne’s very nice dog. Sammy went back to Katherine, who had missed her very much. Katherine sneezed and wheezed, but was glad to have Sammy around again. Katherine is resigned to purchasing tissues by the case. Sammy purrs a lot.
