Trashformations and Schoolhouse on the Dam Beach
Everywhere we looked this morning we saw piles of castoff Stuff turned into astonishing sculptures and kinetic displays and things defying description. And what the heck were all those kids doing at the beach on a school day?

As I drove east on M-88 the car filled with an eyewatering aroma. Cowboy! I growled, casting a steely eye at the spaniel in the rearview mirror. He looked confused. We emerged from the reeking cloud. Ah. Now I remembered.

Yesterday was a fine day in the County and Louan Lechler agreed to meet for lunch and explorations. We wound through Ellsworth and East Jordan and back along Old State Road to Central Lake, where we stopped at a tiny cottage across from the Post Office.
