Letters from Katherine: Minimalist period

January 21, 2009

Katherine sent a newsy note today (I can relate to the dogwalking dilemma):  I’m sitting here with a cat on my lap who periodically gets up and wanders over and stands on my keyboard but still hasn’t warmed up to the dog. I know, give it time. The dog wants to make friends with the […]

After the excitement over the deer, or turkey, this morning, I was bereft of good ideas, but I found some posts by other people that I thought you’d enjoy.  Photographer Lee Rentz lives in Washington State but has family in mid-Michigan.  I loved his December 27, 2008 Into the Mystic Midwest. Blazing trails at Barnes

January 11, 2009

Bruce Laidlaw, intrepid weatherman and cross-country skier, is over at Barnes Park, grooming the trails.  He’s working around windfall, some of it branches, some whole trees.  Moving branches is right up my alley, especially if there is cocoa afterward.  I’ve offered to help next time he’s out there, and to recruit some other branch-draggers, too.  […]
