When I went over to JRAC for the opening of its current show, I admired a quill box. Upon close inspection, I discovered that it was made by Babs Young. Is there no end to the woman’s creative capabilities?
There was a lot to admire, and I’m sorry I didn’t get around to telling you about it sooner, as the show, curated by Sylvia Walworth, is over on Friday (May 8). If you’re headed over East Jordan way, I recommend you make a special stop. Here are a few more pieces I especially liked.

Gerry, Who did the other three art pieces?

I, um, cannot remember who did the first piece and cannot find the name in my notes . . . so I’ll get back to you on that. The art quilts are by Jane Diller (the first) and Andrea Walworth (the second). Thanks for reminding me to give credit where it’s due!

Sorry, I can’t help either on the third. Thanks for the mention of this show. Our next show will be the Student Scholarship Show which opens on May 17. This is alway a great show with our area students. My quill box was my first and probably last, but the result of a fun class with Yvonne Walker Keshick, the world class quill artist from Pellston.

Day trips! Like ‘retirement,’ an appealing concept but not part of my business reality. Thanks for bringing these pieces of the world to me. Also those great animal pictures the other day!

Hmmm – what is this “retirement” you speak of?
